More things checked off the list...

It's hard to believe a week has gone by since I posted. We have been hard at work on our To do list. Things accomplished:

  1. Photos of our house ordered, printed, and ready to send Fed ex to our agency on Monday.

  2. My first photo albums ordered from Lillian Vernon (see photo below)

  3. IAD documents downloaded and filled out.

  4. New agency documents downloaded.

  5. Meeting with attorney scheduled and will be completed Monday.

Things we still need to accomplish:

  1. Type up and have agency approve new documents

  2. Have documents notarized, certified and apostilled.

  3. Find gazillion bubbles (Walmart had a large bottle, but I am looking for a travel size)

  4. Get an adapter or converter or whatever for my blowdryer.

  5. Find a stuffed animal and inflatable beach balls (I will check the dollar store for those beach balls)

  6. Find paper to send out a letter to friends and family about our adoption. (This really needs to happen this week!)

  7. Wait.

Lots to get done....

We found out a week ago that we are 1st in line for a sibling group with our agency. This could mean a quick referral or a long wait still... really, we have learned to never assume anything with international adoption....
  • We DO need to update some paperwork, and one area is our pictures of family and home. Apparently they need to now have these notarized and apostilled before they are registered in a region. So.... I am trying to gather these pictures again. I have no idea why I didn't save these as well in our dossier book that has EVERYTHING....but I didn't. So, I am having to find them, make copies and even take new pictures of certain rooms. UGH!

  • We also have 4 new documents to re-do as the template has changed on those. So we are working on them as well.

  • We have a meeting scheduled with an attorney to go over wills etc, as we haven't done that yet.

  • We have to send our registration back for our International Adoption Doctor.

  • Chris has contacted the travel agency we are going to use when we get the call....and now we just have to decide where we will be flying out of etc.

  • We have a letter to send out to our family and friends...and we are planning a yard sale in another month. And another fun raiser if I can get my act together.
There are a million little things on my list to get done before we get the call, so I am not running around like a chicken.... when that time comes. Example: Buy and assemble family photo albums for the children. Buy little stuffed animals, blankets for the children, buy bubbles, inflatable balls, and little toys to bring on trip #1.

So, my thoughts are scattered and I am in hurry up mode, so I can get to the next "wait stage" and take a deep breath!

Russian-Toys is Closing!

My friend Kim sent me an email last week to let me know that this great store was closing it's online business. Russian-Toys. I knew there were some things I wanted to get before they closed, so I popped right over there to place an order.

Here are the items I ordered, all but the book The Littlest Matryoshka. I want to go back and get that one too, as my sister said it is a great book!
