Fingerprints Expiring-HELP!

Okay, here is a question for all of you who had to get your fingerprints re-done in the state of Tennessee. Ours expire next month, and I am in urgent need of how to get re-fingerprinted. I have been all over the web trying to find this info. Our agency is out of our state, and as each USCIS office handles things differently.... I thought I would ask here first. I do have an old overview sheet we received from CIS back in 2006, that states you can walk in and have them re-done after 14 months. But I'm not sure if that still applies, or if there is a fee. (There used to be a fee, but now with the one time I171H extension, I didn't know if fingerprints would also be a free re-printing). I do know that getting re-printed is completely separate from renewing our I171H which expires in January.

I know this sounds jumbled, but can anyone share how they got re-printed? Did you just take a copy of your I171H and a check? Did you have to mail a request or did you just walk in? Naturally there is no number to call.....

I would really really appreciate your input either via comment or email!

Thanks so much!
Jackie

I'm in Texas but when ours expired, I sent an email to the USCIS office and they sent us a letter in less than 10 days for a new fingerprint appointment date. There was no charge for it last year.

jackie, i am not an expert on this (yet), but my hubby's will expire in feb...probably before we travel, so i asked our SW what we need to do. i know there is no fee because you get a one time free extension. she said that we will just write a letter to ins requesting our 1 time free extension.

can you not ask your social worker? she should easily be able to direct you.

also i just directly type in my questions into google search engine and i usually always find the answer somewhere!

I hope this helps!
